‘Love in a Mist. The Politics of Fertility’ Gallery Talk hosted by Womxn in Design at Harvard GSD

December 4, 2019.
7:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Harvard GSD at Druker Design Gallery & Stubinns (112)

The exhibition Love in a Mist: The Politics of Fertility explores society’s quest to control women and nature, and the resulting environmental degradation. It brings together issues such as the historical use of synthetic hormones in women’s bodies; measures to super-size farmed animals and domesticate plants; and techniques to accelerate fertility and extract natural resources.

On December 4, Womxn in Design will join curator Malkit Shoshan to discuss the questions raised by the exhibit and the urgency of the topic.

The event at the gallery will be followed by the screening of the “Vessel” a documentary film by Diana Whitten in Stubbins.

The film follows Women on Waves, a Dutch pro-choice organization and its founder Rebecca Gomperts as she sails a ship around the world and provides abortions at sea for women who have no legal alternative.

The event is hosted by Womxn in Design, and Art, Design, and the Public Domain (ADPD) MDes.
